Position Summary

Responsible for maintaining HCB institutional distribution resources; supporting institutional projects & processes; reporting & analyzing HCB institutional production; and serving as a support liaison to institutions, HCB field offices & insurance carriers regarding information inquiries & problem solving. Will report to VP, Institutional Distribution with dotted line to National Account Manager. Potential for annual bonus based on company performance.

Position Responsibilities

  1. Develop & maintain institution related information on the institutional section of company intranet.

  2. Assist with &/or coordinate institutional projects & processes, e.g. bringing on a new institutional account; developing & communicating new SOPs for institutional accounts;

  3. Tracking compliance approval process for marketing materials and concepts for institutions and responsible for building out and maintaining database of approved materials that should be published and available for HCB field use.

  4. Produce & distribute custom institutional production reports from company management reporting system.

  5. Serve as a day-to-day contact point for institutions, HCB offices & carriers to help answer questions, direct to appropriate information sources, and assist in day-to-day problem resolution.

  6. Assist in the implementation and coordination of joint marketing and business plans between Highland Capital Brokerage and Institutions as well as meeting follow-ups.

  7. Coordinate travel, meeting, and call schedules for the department.

  8. Convert meeting notes into digital format and summarize action items.

  9. Lead & coordinate institutional projects:
    a. Complete projects independently and within teams as assigned by the Vice President of Institutional Distribution and National Account Manager;
    b. Manage projects that involve both internal and external resources.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, finance or related field or equivalent work experience.

Experience

Previous experience in the life insurance, banking or brokerage field is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess knowledge of and ability to demonstrate project management and organizational skills; analytical skills; quality assurance and technical writing (such as the ability to develop marketing materials for external use); skills, and knowledge of word processing (MS Word), spreadsheet (MS Excel), and presentation (MS PowerPoint) software, plus the ability to learn other platforms.

The individual must possess the ability to learn understand the products of HCB Carriers, knowledge of Carrier niches and knowledge of Highland’s National Accounts.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from producers, carriers, and other staff members. Ability to effectively present information to producers, carriers, and management & institutional representatives.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret extensive variety of instructions in verbal or diagram form.

Physical Demands

This position involves minimal travel (less than 1% of the time).

This position is performed in a normal office environment that includes 75% sitting and less than 10% walking and/or standing. This position is required to frequently review information on a computer screen and to obtain other necessary information via the phone.
